2 day Valve amp building workshop 8-9th August

Helloo builders,

I’m beyond excited! We’ve got two completed electronic designs for the amp building workshop you expressed interest in. 

You’ll build a boutique single channel amp in one weekend. I guarantee that by the end of that weekend you’ll have made your first working valve amp. And you will have built it to a better standard than any mass produced amp on the market, in terms of tone, reliability and serviceability.

Design 1.
Plexi style head. Tonal monster, low noise.
Huge modding options – including , gain tweaks, tone tweaks

Design 2.
Black panel Fender style head. My personal favourite amp.
Once again, lots of options, You can build it up as Tweed/Black/Silver (fender call this 65 vs 68 IIRC), 

Both amps are in the 30-50W output bracket, using either 6L6s or EL34s. Both amps can be fitted with a really effective output stage attenuator (PPIMV) that I use regularly to tame loud amps for customers. 

There’s a full range of cosmetic options too. Colours, tolex, piping, Custom front panels, if you’re arty. 

The practical element will be spaced out with simple valve amp theory, in a similar manner to my pedal building workshops.

This amp won’t have reverb or an FX loop. But the chassis has holes to take either, so I do plan on offering this as a bolt on short course in the future.

We can do a short soldering skills refresher section at the start, but this workshop is intended for people who can already solder. If you haven’t yet learned the joys of soldering, please come on a pedal building workshop first. 🙂

The cost of the 2 day workshop is £1750, including 2 days of teaching and all the parts needed to make the amp. Lunch and ample supply of tea and coffee are provided during the days!
